So it’s a pretty nice night out this evening, especially nice enough to have my window open. This makes me realize how much I really find comfort in listening to the sounds of the harbor and the train. The slow moving sounds of the train going along the tracks and the horns from the boats coming and going from the harbor. It’s so relaxing in the fact that, most of the time I don’t even notice either of these things. I love times like this when other things can’t distract me and I get to just listen.
LONDON, ENGLAND - JANUARY 01: Fireworks light up the London skyline and Big Ben just after midnight on January 1, 2012 in London, England. Thousands of people gathered in central London to ring in the New Year with a spectacular fireworks display.
So I’ve been trying to think of how I’m going to write about New Year’s resolutions, without totally setting myself up for failure. I.E. at the end of 2012, looking back on my tumblr blog and realising I haven’t travelled around the world, lost 100 pounds, or taken up skydiving on the weekends. (I don’t actually want to take up skydiving, maybe just once)
I do in fact though want this to be a fantastic year. And I think it will be! I was reading one of my favorite blog websites and came across this blog, and I think it pins the tail on the donkey.
How to be the Boss Bitch of 2012

I think everyone should take up this mentality. It’s pretty kick-ass.
More to come on things I’d like to do/complete in 2012.

Whoa. It’s been some time loyal tumblr followers, as I know I have thousands of them. Not. But regardless of who is following me, it’s been too long for me.
A quick update on life after London. LAL if you will. I’ve taken on a new job at a pretentious Starbucks across the bridge to Mt Pleasant, which despite my not so flattering description, has been quite amazing. (I do wish it was across the pond, though) But really, I could not have asked for much more after leaving my comfortable little home at King and Calhoun. I’ve met some stunning friends that I hope I can keep after my time is up at Honeycutt and it has in some strange way, made me like Starbucks again! Which is always a plus, seeing as it takes up 40 plus hours of my week.
My dearest friend MaryAnna graduated from college. What a feat. It’s been so great seeing her become the college grad that she is now from the craigslist roommate from Arizona I met back in 2008. I’m so proud of my friend!
Have I spoken about Leah? You know, that random girl I went to London with? Well, somehow she ended up moving with me and MaryAnna and it has just been peachy ever since! (the random girl part was a joke, incase my sarcasm doesn’t jump out of this font) Sometimes I feel like Leah was somehow separated from me at birth and born a year or so later. (Awkward) We are so alike in too many ways. It’s wonderful.
Needless to say, I still haven’t met Mr. Darcy.
And now it’s Christmastime. My favorite time of year! It’s been a little tough to get into the Christmas spirit purely because of the 75 degree weather here in South Carolina, but despite the weather, I do feel that little extra pep in my step that Christmas tends to give you. MaryAnna, Leah, and I exchanged gifts tonight and I lucked out! Got some great jewels, a really awesome attachable handheld phone that hooks into your iPhone, and a book about the Royal family (I highly recommend it).
Happy Christmas!
